Ja Ja
The Icelandic language is interesting, if challenging, but one of the easier words or phrases is ja ja. This positive little noise will pretty much get you through any conversation, even if you don’t understand or speak a word. It kind of translates to yes, but it is a much more loose, non-committal way - and works for 'I'm listening...carry on'.

Hi, I’m Sonia - architect, educator, and the artist behind Reykjavík Sketcher. I hand-draw Iceland’s architecture and landscapes, blending traditional techniques with modern minimalism. My work is inspired by the place I call home, Reykjavík, and the creative journeys of the students and women I teach.
