Hand-drawn by a Chartered Architect with hundreds of commissions delivered worldwide - a meaningful, professional gift that feels personal and permanent.
Hi, I’m Sonia Nicolson-Guðrúnarson, a Chartered Architect, artist, and the creator behind Reykjavik Sketcher.
I’ve loved drawing for as long as I can remember. When I moved from Scotland to Reykjavík in 2016, sketching became my way of slowing down, observing, and connecting with my new home.
What began as a quiet daily practice soon became a digital sketchbook, part exhibition, part diary, as I started sharing my drawings online. People began asking to buy prints, commission sketches of their homes, and share the stories behind the buildings I captured. That’s how Reykjavik Sketcher was born.
One winter evening, while waiting for my husband in downtown Reykjavík, I sat sketching the streets around me. The buildings, the light, the small everyday details, they all felt worth documenting. I never really stopped.
Today, my drawings are collected around the world and celebrate the architecture, character, and stories that make Iceland unique.
