Reykjavík Sketcher

Hand-drawn architectural sketches of Iceland, created by an Architect.

Sharing the world around me, one sketch at a time

Meet the Artist: Sonia Nicolson-Guðrúnarson

A chartered architect with a lifelong love for hand drawing. When I moved from Scotland to Reykjavík in 2016, I began sketching the buildings and streets around me as a way to get to know the city.

What started as a quiet daily practice turned into a digital sketchbook - part exhibition, part diary - as I began sharing my work online. Soon, people started asking to buy prints, request commissions, and share stories behind the homes and places I sketched.

The name Reykjavík Sketcher was born one evening while I waited downtown for my husband, sketching the surrounding streets, and I never really stopped.
