The Nordic House, Reykjavík - Original Architectural Sketch
The Nordic House, Reykjavík - Original Architectural Sketch
The Nordic House is an original hand-drawn architectural sketch of the Nordic House cultural centre in Reykjavík, Iceland. Drawn in black ink on location by architect and artist Sonia Nicolson (Reykjavik Sketcher), this one-of-a-kind artwork captures one of Reykjavík’s most celebrated examples of Nordic modernist architecture.
Designed by renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto (1898–1976), the Nordic House is a landmark of Scandinavian design. This is an original artwork, not a print or reproduction, and will not be repeated once sold.
About the Artwork
This original architectural sketch documents the Nordic House, a cultural landmark in Reykjavík designed by Finnish modernist architect Alvar Aalto. Drawn by hand in black ink as part of the ongoing Reykjavik Sketcher series, the artwork reflects a slow, observational approach to architecture, focusing on proportion, atmosphere, and place rather than perfection.
Each Reykjavik Sketcher original is drawn by hand and exists as a single, one-of-a-kind piece.
