A one-of-a-kind architectural artwork, drawn by hand by Architect and Artist Sonia Nicolson.
Whether it’s a family home, a first apartment, a favourite holiday cottage, or a building filled with memories, each commission is created to celebrate the places that matter most.
Using traditional hand-drawing techniques and an architect’s eye for detail, every sketch captures the character, proportions, and story of a place in a way that photography simply can’t.
Available as either a digital commission or an original hand-drawn artwork.

Two Ways to Commission
To protect the time and care each artwork deserves, commissions are released in limited batches (currently 5 slots per option)
1. Digital Architectural Sketch (Download)
Created by hand, then delivered as a high-resolution digital file.

2. Physical Architectural Sketch (Original Artwork)
A one-of-a-kind, original artwork, drawn entirely by hand and posted to you.

Commissions are released in limited batches to protect the time and care each artwork deserves. Once a batch sells out, commissions will reopen in the next release.
How the Commission Process Works
Purchase via the shop | Select your preferred commission type and size, and complete checkout
Submit your reference photos | After purchase, send reference images and details to me
Creation | Each piece is created using my architectural training and years of experience in hand drawing and observation
Delivery
Digital commissions are delivered via email
Physical commissions are carefully packaged and shipped
Payment is required in full before work begins
Timelines
Current turnaround time is approximately 1-2 weeks from purchase. During busy periods (especially Autumn and Christmas), turnaround times may be longer. Any updates will be shared. If you’re working to a specific date, please ensure the current turnaround time aligns before purchasing, as rush orders are not available. Please note that timelines are approximate and may vary slightly depending on the complexity of the building.

All commissions are drawn by hand and are intentionally not photo-realistic
These commissions are intended as artistic interpretations rather than exact technical drawings
Because each piece is custom-made, commissions are non-refundable once work has begun
Why I Offer Architectural Commissions
As an architect, I’ve always believed that buildings hold stories - the house where children grew up, the apartment where a couple started their life together, the summer cabin that’s been in a family for generations.
Hand drawing allows me to slow down, observe, and capture those stories in a way that feels personal, thoughtful, and timeless.
Every commission is created with care, architectural accuracy, and deep respect for the place it represents.

Because I create original hand-drawn artwork, revisions are limited. I send a sneak peak once the drawing is started so you can see how it’s going.

Because each piece is hand-drawn and custom-made, changes after completion are not possible. If needed, all key details are confirmed before work begins to ensure clarity and alignment.
