Litla Jólabúðin is one of those Reykjavík spots that feels magical all year round. Tucked along Laugavegur, this tiny Christmas shop glows with warm light, decorations, and that unmistakable Icelandic charm. I just finished sketching this piece in the run-up to Christmas, whilst the snow fell outside, and I enjoyed sitting by our Christmas tree.
This illustration captures a little of that festive atmosphere, the soft winter tones, the cosy storefront, and the feeling of Christmas in downtown Reykjavík. A lovely seasonal print for anyone who cherishes Iceland, holiday traditions, or charming shopfronts.

Hi, I’m Sonia - architect, educator, and the artist behind Reykjavík Sketcher. I hand-draw Iceland’s architecture and landscapes, blending traditional techniques with modern minimalism. My work is inspired by the place I call home, Reykjavík, and the creative journeys of the students and women I teach.
